Types of blogging communities and its structure

According to About.com, blogging community is a blogosphere, with the definition of, the online community of blogs and the people who write them. The main emphasis here is “online community of blogs”, thus this means is a gathering of bloggers come to a common place to share their blogs with each other. Such sites that allows this type of interaction are;
·         technorati.com
·         blogpulse.com
·         blogscope.com
·         xanga.com 

This sites requires people to register themselves, before they can interact with the members within.
Furthermore, people can share their blogs via social networking websites such as facebook and twitter. Another method is to leave comments on the post.

According to White, 2006, there are three main types of blog based community.
Firstly the Single Blog Community, where visitors of a blog can leave comments to interact with the author and other visitors of that blog, as we can see in Figure 1 below.

Secondly, Central Connecting Topic Community, where a community is build upon the same interest, passion and topic, as Figure 2 below shows,

Third and lastly, Boundaried Communities, where is a platform that allow users to share blogs and interact with other authors, as Figure 3 explains,
