According to technorati.com, in the year 2010 focused on female bloggers rather than male and they had 7200 responses, with hobbyists as the leading respondent, followed by part-timers, corporate, and self-employed. They collected the data via consumer survey, Lijit and Technorati Index Data
Furthermore, there are 152 million blogs on the internet as of 2010 as tracked by BlogPulse (pingdom, 2011).
The global financial crisis has caused about 16% or 1152 of respondents to change their topic, to focus on the economy downturn (technorati.com).
Moreover there are so many other topic to talk about such as, personal, business, schools, non-profit organization, politics, military, sports, review, tips and how-to
It is hard to say that a certain blogs are prevalent in a certain country, as there are about 6.8 billion (google.com, 2009) people in this world each with different taste and opinions
In my opinion, websites like malaysiakini.com, offers alternative news compared to the news sources in Malaysia, this means that their news might not agreed with those standard media such as The Star, New Straits Times, Harian Metro, Berita Harian and so on.
However, Malaysian are allowed to choose their source of media and what they want to listen to because in the constitution of Malaysia, Article 10. Malaysians are guaranteed the freedom of speech, but governed by Article 10 (2) and (4), in the interest of national security, public order and morality (ERA Administrator, 2010)
